Laser Precision is a full-service, metal fabricator. In addition to laser cutting, we also offer CNC machining, forming, certified welding (mig, tig, resistance), powder coating, turret punching, grinding, finishing, freight management.
Laser Precision has developed an innovative new platform for the procurement of metal parts and assemblies. Utilizing “State of the Art” data management technologies, Laser Precision has developed a proprietary ecosystem that allows the entire value stream to be synchronized to the customer’s demand requirements. We call it Synchronized Sourcing and it is the technology that drives our Performance Metrics.
With Synchronized Sourcing, all elements of demand are synchronized, Material Procurement, Part Specifications, Sub-vendor demand, Order Entry, Order Scheduling, Order Expediting, Machinery and Labor Allocation, Quality Requirements, Finishing Requirements, Packaging, Shipping Coordination, Electronic Ship Notification, Electronic Invoicing. All value stream elements are defined and coordinated into an electronic demand profile. This profile is continuously updated and refined to insure customer requirements are met, on-time, to your exacting specifications. This process is fully automated and is accomplished with virtually no human intervention.
Yes, Laser Precision is fully EDI compatible. In fact, EDI is what drives our Synchronized Sourcing platform. Our EDI platform supports Electronic Orders, Schedule Changes, RFQ, ASN, Invoicing, and other information as defined by the customer. The difference is Laser Precision can electronically coordinate and reschedule up to 4800 modifications daily with virtually no human intervention. Automated systems automatically modify schedules, material requirements, priorities, capacity plans, and synchronization all elements of the electronic demand profile match the customer requirements for success.
Laser Precision is ISO 9001:2015 Certified.
Other quality certification include:
While we are proud of our Certifications and view them as a fundamental element of our success, we recognize certifications are only as good as the performance they engender. At Laser Precision, we have integrated the disciplines of certification into “World Class” Performance achieving best in class performance with virtually every customer we support.
Laser Precision commonly works with carbon and alloy steels up to .750″ thick, stainless steel up to .500″ thick, and aluminum up to .250″ thick. Generally, individual part sizes vary but can be as large as 60″ x 120″. Assemblies can be significantly larger. Our largest press brake is capable of forming up to 14 feet and large machining centers accommodate sizeable work. Powder coating can accommodate part envelopes up to 120″ x 72″ x 48″ (L x H x W).
Laser Precision has also processed in “exotic” materials including hastelloy, titanium, inconel, nickel, and other aerospace alloys.
All production processes are controlled electronically with machine set-ups performed in “virtual” space prior to any materials processing. Adjustments to the electronic manufacturing plans are stored and deployed to the work stations in real-time. Virtual set-ups allow operators to load manufacturing parameters directly into the processing equipment from the manufacturing servers, saving time, and eliminating errors.
Laser Precision electronically coordinates and reschedules up to 4800 order and schedule changes daily with virtually no human intervention. Production schedules are evaluated and updated every 90 seconds based on real-time customer demand modifications and electronic capacity allocation. Design elements are continuously evaluated to determine economies of scale that might be achieved with effective production grouping. The Synchronization platform automatically performs yield management functions to insure that raw material is utilized in the most economic manner possible. Virtually all inspection is done “in-station” and is performed by the same qualified technicians that produce the work. Laser Precision has no in-process inspectors, thereby avoiding the cost and delays of independent internal quality surveillance. Comprehensive in-station quality management has dramatically driven down costs, and improved overall quality performance to World Class levels. Metrics regarding quality performance are collected, analyzed, and incorporated into the overall process control parameters of the enterprise.
The entire production process is controlled by an AIAG compliant Control Process. All process failure modes are identified and addressed during the electronic development of the part. The process criteria, specifications, and safeguards are electronically identified and deployed to the specific workstations that are responsible for failure avoidance. Laser Precision routinely works with companies that do not have extensive electronic data transfer protocols. While these associations are very valuable to us, and comprise some of our oldest and dearest customers, leveraging the electronic capabilities of our infrastructure is the way to best utilize our capabilities.
The Synchronized Sourcing platform was developed to service all of our customers. However, several elements of the system make it particularly well suited to significant O.E.M. purchasers. The system is best suited to companies who have an integrated EDI process through which they can transmit demand electronically. Furthermore, it is usually important to have a fairly robust MRP platform to generate the demand information.
Customers who have fairly extensive outsource programs where significant numbers of parts are purchased usually see the most benefit. This is due in large part to having a sufficient universe of parts to allow automated yield management. In addition, customers who have an integrated quality management system are best suited to the implementation of the program since the quality parameters need to be identified and quantified to allow for electronic deployment.
Synchronized Sourcing utilizes elements of EDI, ERP, and MRP together with proprietary software to synchronize demand elements throughout the value stream. Compared with stand alone ERP systems, the synchronized sourcing platform is more comprehensive, and incorporates all aspects of demand, coordinating and deploying information into the value stream to assure a successful outcome. Internal and external communication and collaboration are electronically hard-coded into the system to facilitate timely transfers of information.
