Cari Berrelez: A People Person Who Cares
November 15, 2019
Cari Berrelez joined us as an HR Generalist in May of 2019. In this position, she does everything she can to assist Kim Wimer, our Human Resources Manager. Since our employment rolls have just about tripled since Kim joined us three years ago (not to mention her community workforce efforts), she can use all the help she can get. Cari fills out paperwork, tracks attendance, conducts interviews, gives plant tours to employment candidates, gives them background on the company and goes through open positions with them. She also helps current employees with understanding all company guidelines.
Cari is never quite sure just what her day will bring, but she knows she can use her career experience to help her through it.
Varied Career Path
Speaking of experience, Cari brings a lot to her current position. She has worked as a UPS package delivery driver, administrator for 2 different food flavoring labs, a substitute teacher and an IT professional. She and her husband also owned a bike shop that served beer for a number of years. In addition to all that, she managed to find time to earn a degree in Liberal Arts from Roosevelt University.
Finding Laser Precision
With two children now grown and in college, Cari decided on a career move. After much fruitless searching, a friend told her about Laser Precision. It almost seemed too good to be true and she jumped at the opportunity.
Cari prides herself on getting to know all the employees by name and learning about their particular needs. “I enjoy working with people. Getting the chance to work with them and help solve problems on a daily basis is the perfect job for me.”
She especially enjoys the working environment here. “It’s such a pleasure to have a position with a family-owned company. The management here genuinely cares about the well-being of the employees.” Cari appreciates the guidance she receives from Kim in this regard and is happy to be a part of the process.
Outside the office, Cari likes to spend time with her family and pursing outdoor activities such as cycling. Fellow employees may not know she is also an accomplished painter. Her specialty is watercolor landscapes. One of her works won a contest and was published in a book featuring talented local artists.
