Robotic Welding: Our Next Phase in Continuous Improvement
April 30, 2018
In response to several customers approaching us with high volume welding requirements, Laser Precision has taken delivery of its first automated welding machine. The Miller PerformArc 350S high output welding system (PA350S) will easily turn out higher volume jobs while simultaneously helping to improve the overall efficiency of the operation.
The acquisition is part of our natural progression towards offering a complete range of fabrication services. “We’ve already started to see volume growing on the welding orders we currently have in place,” said Cameron Adams, Laser Precision’s Sales & Marketing Manager. “The implementation of robotics will help keep us at the forefront of providing cost-effective solutions to our customers.”
The PA350S provides a full spectrum of welding processes and is designed for the rugged demands of robotic industrial welding operations. It features an extremely fast AC servo capable of rotating the turntable 180 degrees. Introducing automation should drastically improve times on certain weld requirements.
“We are excited to get this new technology up and running in to our facility,” said Adams. “It’s a new paradigm for our organization. After getting it running we will determine what additional technology and processes might complement it to help us drive even more value to our customers.”
Each type of weld we perform (including those done by robots) has been tested and certified to meet AWS standards (learn more about our certification process).
